Icefire tummbled in a pile of leaves. She had just got back from a hunting mission and was now ready for a nap in the sun. But first she nawed on some rabbit that she had caught. She panted in the warmth of the sun, making her beautiful fur glow. She finished the meal and began to lick her paws mindlessly. She was lost in thought. She wondered if she would ever really make a friend. She sighed and laid down, resting her head on her paws.

A full-bred Pharaoh hound trotted into the den, and stopped immediately, head up and her ears perked. Her brown gaze rested upon a female, and she flicked her ears best she could, in an apologetic sense. "Terribly sorry to come in upon you like this, Miss," she said, tone rather unsure. "Can I join you?"

Icefire looked up in surprise at the dog that had come. She said with a kind voice, "Of coarse you can. I have been looking for some company." She wondered what the name of this dog was, for she had never really met her before.
